Across Malawi, cases of cholera are increasing, especially in Karonga, Zomba, Mangochi, Nkhata Bay, and Machinga Districts, where at least 27 people have died.

Advice For Travellers

Although the risk of exposure to cholera will vary from place to place, it is not difficult to minimize the risk of exposure to this disease. Travellers to any area where cholera should strictly observe all food and water precautions. If gastrointestinal symptoms (e.g., vomiting and profuse watery diarrhoea) develop while visiting the affected area, travellers should seek medical care at once.
