Many more states in USA report West Nile Fever cases

During the past week, the number of reported cases of West Nile Fever has jumped to 210 nationwide. There have been 5 deaths. The number of states reporting at least 1 case of this infection has grown to 39 states. California (24 cases), Texas (22 cases) and Arizona (19 cases) have reported the largest number of cases.

Advice For Travellers

Although the risk for the general traveller is very low, since there is no vaccine or treatment for West Nile fever, travellers to areas where this virus has been found can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
