Maria risk increases in largest city in Gujurat, India

Health authorities have reported a 25% increase in malaria cases. So far in 2011, 1,526 cases have been recorded in the city. In the last 2 months alone, 856 infections were diagnosed.

Travellers to this area should be aware of the risk of exposure to malaria and take all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
