Massacre near town of Kaga-Bandoro, Central African Republic

Twenty-six people were shot and killed in the village of Ndomete, not far from the town of Kaga-Bandoro. Suspected gunmen from the former Seleka rebel coalition are blamed for the attack. The violence is a continuation of rivalries between the mainly Muslim Seleka fighters and Christian anti-Balaka members.

Due to the lack of personal safety and unpredictable armed conflict, many governments advise their citizens to avoid all travel to this country.
