Measles among Air Asia flight from Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne, Australia.

Health officials have reported 4 cases of measles among passengers who arrived in Melbourne on April 1st on an Air Asia flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. One of the passengers visited the Austin Hospital on April 14, 2011, between 9am and 7.30pm (AEST)l and exposed anyone in the waiting room to possible infection with this highly infectious virus.

Travellers on the flight from Kuala Lumpur or who visited the Austin Hospital emergency room on the date indicated should be aware of possible exposure and infection with measles. If childhood vaccinations are not up-to-date and symptoms develop, consult your personal physician.
