Measles cases, deaths and outbreaks have been reported from the following countries:

UK (Scotland) - measles outbreak (9 cases) confirmed in Lanarkshire

Democratic Republic of the Congo

• Equateur and Kasai Orientale - officials declare measles epidemic

Pakistan

• Karachi - sporadic cases reported; more cases expected
• Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Shabqadar) - “many” cases; 3 deaths in children
• Swat - more than 100 cases; 7 deaths in children
