Measles cases, deaths and outbreaks have been reported from the following countries: Sweden (Uppsala), United Kingdom (North-East England and South Wales), Cameroon (Douala), Democratic Republic of the Congo, Nigeria (Jigawa and Niger), China (Anhui), Japan (2012 data), Pakistan (Punjab) and the United States (Florida).

Travellers are reminded that outbreaks of the highlycontagious measles virus can occur anywhere in the world at any time.Travellers can reduce their risk of exposure to the highly contagious measlesvirus by ensuring that their childhood vaccinations, including measles,are up-to-date prior to travelling.
