Measles - Central Visayas, Philippines

Since the beginning of the year, health officials of the Department of Health in Central Visayas have identified 29 cases of measles in Siquijor Province and at least 4 measles infections in children in Cebu and Negros Oriental Provinces. A mass vaccination campaign is planned for the month of April to contain any spread of the disease.

Travellers to this area should be aware of the risk of exposure to the measles virus and ensure that their childhood vaccinations are up-to-date.
