Measles continues to spread in Switzerland

Although the epidemic of measles that began earlier this year peaked in April, health authorities are still finding additional cases. Officials registered 44 cases in just four days. To date, a total of 600 cases have been reported, mostly in the cantons of Geneva, Vaud, Graubünden, Zurich and Bern.

Travellers to Switzerland and other European countries should be aware that there have been major outbreaks of measles throughout Europe this year. Travellers to Europe should ensure that their childhood vaccinations are up-to-date.
