Advice For Travellers

During the past Ebola outbreak in Nigeria, public health services were unable to maintain measles vaccination programs for newly born children. Because there are many unvaccinated and susceptible children, there is a high risk of measles outbreaks. Travellers who have not been immunized may be at high risk. Travellers can reduce their risk of exposure to the highly contagious measles virus by ensuring that their childhood vaccinations, including measles, are up-to-date prior to travelling.
