Measles outbreak continues in Sindh, Pakistan, with more deaths in children

So far in three weeks in March, 20 children have died from measles. More than 300 cases have been reported. Deaths were reported in Tharparkar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Hyderabad and Badin. Across Pakistan, hundreds of children have died from this disease. Travellers are reminded that outbreaks of the highlycontagious measles virus can occur anywhere in the world at any time.Travellers can reduce their risk of exposure to the highly contagious measlesvirus by ensuring that their childhood vaccinations, including measles,are up-to-date prior to travelling.
