Measles outbreak expanding in Republic of Georgia

Number of reported measles cases has increased to 403 cases with 142 people hospitalized. Many of the cases (162) are in the 20-29 year old age group while some have been in the 10-14 age group. Travellers are reminded that outbreaks of the highlycontagious measles virus can occur anywhere in the world at any time.Travellers can reduce their risk of exposure to the highly contagious measlesvirus by ensuring that their childhood vaccinations, including measles,are up-to-date prior to travelling.
