Measles outbreak reported in Scotland

In spite of the high level of vaccination against measles in Scotland, a small outbreak of this disease has been reported in both Newmains and Larkhall, where 12 confirmed and one suspected case have been reported. Travellers are reminded that outbreaks of the highly contagious measles virus can occur anywhere in the world at any time. Travellers can reduce their risk of exposure to the highly contagious measles virus by ensuring that their childhood vaccinations, including measles, are up-to-date prior to travelling.
