Measles outbreaks in Europe

Measles outbreaks continue cross many countries in Europe. France has recorded the largest number of cases, approximately 4,900, since January-March 2011. Other countries experiencing increases in cases include Macedonia, 400, Serbia, 300, Bulgaria, 131, Belgium, 100, and Turkey, 80.

Travellers to Europe should be aware of the risk of exposure to this highly infectious illness and ensure that their childhood vaccinations are up-to-date.
