Meningitis outbreak in Upper East Region of Ghana kills 16 in 2 months

At least 16 people have died in the last 2 months due to meningitis.

Travellers should be aware that outbreaks of meningitis occur during the dry season in Ghana and other Sub-Saharan African countries, e.g., The Gambia, Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad, Central African Republic, Sudan, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Eritrea.
