More bombings in southern Thailand

A pub and a karaoke bar were struck by two bombs that exploded in a busy nightlife district in the southern province of Pattani. One person was killed and 30 people were injured. No one was inured in the first explosion, but the second explosion was timed to cause death and injury in people who were responding to the first blast.

Advice For Travellers

Travellers to southern provinces in Thailand (including tourist destinations) should be cautious due to on-going civil unrest and terrorist threats. Where possible, avoid cafes, bars and other venues such as markets and tourist attractions since these sites are often the targets for terrorist attacks.
