More cases and deaths due to scrub typhus in Himachal Pradesh, India (update)

Two more deaths due to scrub typhus have brought the total to 10 so far in the mountainous Himachal Pradesh. A total of 155 cases have been treated for this disease. This illness is transmitted by the bite of infected mite larva. Travellers can reduce the risk of exposure to scrub typhus by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mite larva bites.
