More cases of typhoid fever recorded in Harare as epidemic spreads

The number of people treated for typhoid fever during the current epidemic has risen to 756. Many more infections are suspected in the community. The combination of extreme heat, summer rains and dilapidated basic municipal services has created conditions for the spread of the disease. Other reports suggest fish vendors as the source.
