More cholera in Zambia

Ministry of Health officials have recorded 62 cases of cholera this year (48 in Lusaka and 14 in Chibombo). Since the outbreak started in December 2015 there have been more than 350 people infected with 77 deaths.

Advice For Travellers

It is not difficult to minimize the risk of exposure to this disease. Travellers to any area where cholera should strictly observe all food and water precautions. If gastrointestinal symptoms (e.g., vomiting and profuse watery diarrhoea) develop while visiting the affected area, travellers should seek medical care at once.
