More Meningitis Cases in Fiji

Health authorities have reported a total of 46 people infected with meningitis as of mid-April. Of these, 22 had positive laboratory tests while the remainder is considered likely to have meningitis infections. All the patients have been less than 19 years old. The most affected areas include the Central and Western Divisions, while the Eastern and Northern Divisions have reported 1 and 2 cases, respectively. Six deaths have occurred.
