More polio cases reported in Pakistan

Two new cases of polio have been reported, bringing the total for the year to 29. Pakistan has the highest number of new polio cases in the world. The 3 major areas where transmission of the virus is occurring include Fata, Quetta and adjoining districts, and parts of Karachi.

Travellers in any country that reports cases of polio can reduce their risk of exposure to polio virus by ensuring that their childhood vaccinations, including polio, are up-to-date prior to travelling.
