More rioting breaks out in Northern Ireland over flag issue

At least 8 more police officers were injured and 5 people were arrested as rioting broke out in Belfast again in response to Belfast's City Council's vote on Monday not to fly the British flag all year round. Loyalists believe that Northern Ireland should maintain strong links to Britain. Two cars were set on fire while protesters hurled stones, bricks and bottles at the police. There have been nightly protests in several parts of Northern Ireland. Travellers should be cautious and avoid all public and political demonstrations since they may become violent during confrontations with police.
