Seven tornadoes with torrential rain and flash floods caused the death of 6 people in Texas and Oklahoma. The city of Palestine in Anderson County, Texas, was one of the worst hit areas. Strong winds in the Houston area uprooted trees and cut power lines, leaving more than 4,200 residents without electricity. More storms are expected over the next few days for New Orleans and the southern Louisiana region, extending from east Texas into Mississippi.
