More sporadic cases of severe respiratory avian influenza H7N9 in China

Sporadic cases of the severe respiratory avian influenza strain H7N9 continue to appear in various regions of China. Two new cases were reported in the cities of Shenzhen and Guangzhou in Guangdong Province. The province of Fujian has reported new cases and at least 1 death. Since the appearance of this virus, a total of 462 cases have been found in many different provinces.

The risk of exposure for travellers is very low, but live poultry markets where strains of avian flu can circulate should be avoided.
