More than 1,000 new people infected with cholera in Yemen

In the last few weeks, health officials have reported another 1,089 people suspected of being infected with cholera and 1 dead due to the disease. This would bring the total number of cases to 12,733, which includes 97 deaths. The disease has affected 135 districts in many governorates, but the majority of people infected were reported from Aden, Ibb, Ta’izz, and Al Hudaydah.

Advice For Travellers

All travellers can minimize the risk of exposure to this disease. Strictly observe all food and water precautions in any area where there is cholera. If gastrointestinal symptoms (e.g., vomiting and profuse watery diarrhoea) develop while visiting the affected area, travellers should seek medical care at once.
