More violent demonstrations in Venezuela

At least 3,000 demonstrators have clashed with riot police in Caracas to protest against the arrest of two opposition mayors. The group of protesters threw rocks at police who responded with tear gas and water cannon. At least 31 people have died in Venezuela and 461 have been injured in violent clashes that began last month between opposition demonstrators and government forces.

Travellers should be cautious and avoid all public and political gatherings since they may become violent without notice.
