More West Nile Fever virus found in Georgia and Pennsylvania, USA

Health officials in Savannah, Georgia, are investigating a possible human case of West Nile Fever. The US Centers for Disesae Prevention and Control (CDC) reports a total of 5 cases nationally with 1 death.

In the state of Pennsylvania, the virus has been found in local mosquitoes in Allentown and Hanover Township, and in neighboring Bucks and Schuylkill counties.

Travellers to the USA should be aware of the risk of exposure to West Nile Fever virus and take all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
