Most of cholera cases reported from Greater Accra in Ghana

Almost all (90%) of the cases of cholera in the country have been reported in the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area, while the Volta and Central regions also reported a number of cases. The total now stands at 601 cases and 5 deaths from 31 districts in eight regions across the country.

Advice For Travellers

All travellers to any area where cholera has been reported can reduce the risk of exposure to this infection by strictly observing all food and water precautions. If gastrointestinal symptoms (e.g., vomiting and profuse watery diarrhoea) develop while visiting the affected area, travellers should seek medical care at once.
