Mount Kinabalu climbing activities suspended until September 2015

Mount Kinabalu climbing activities are expected to reopen in early September 2015. The mountain has been closed to climbers since the earthquake on June 5. Restoration work is being done on the climbing routes.

Advice

When climbing activities resume, the number of climbers will be limited to fewer than 100 per climb for safety reasons. At this time, access to the mountain is prohibited and anyone caught in violation will be prosecuted under the Sabah Parks Enactment of 1984.
