Much damage after earthquake in Surigao del Norte, Philippines

The strong earthquake that struck in Mindanao last Friday resulted in at least 8 deaths and more than 200 injuries. Serious damage was reported at the Surigao airport, and many buildings and 1,300 houses were affected. More than 130 aftershocks, mostly in Surigao City and San Jose, Dinagat Islands, have followed the magnitude 6.7 quake that struck Surigao del Norte province late Friday. Relief supplies are being distributed.
