Mumps epidemic in British Columbia, Canada

Health authorities have identified an outbreak of mumps in the Fraser and Coastal health districts. A total of 77 cases have been reported since the beginning of 2011. The affected people range in age from 2 to 54 years old.

Travellers to these areas should be aware of the risk of exposure to mumps and ensure that their childhood vaccinations are up-to-date.
