Muslim Brotherhood call for "Friday of Rejection" protests Friday, July 5, 2013

In response to the military coup in Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood has called for mass protests in a “Friday of Rejection” protest following weekly prayers. The army has made a statement that all people should have the right to peaceful protest.

With political tensions running high after the coup, avoid all public gatherings and demonstrations. Some countries are warning citizens to avoid all travel to Egypt with the exception of travel to resorts on the Red Sea in South Sinai and those resorts on the Egyptian mainland in Red Sea governorate. Those who are already in areas other than these resort areas should remain close to their hotel and pay close attention to personal safety and security.
