New case of polio makes 6 cases found this year in Nigeria

After 30 months with no new polio cases, a new suspected case has been diagnosed in the Bindawa Local Government Area of Katsina State. Health authorities have noted a total of 6 cases this year.

While the risk of exposure for the average traveller is low, travellers in any country that reports cases of polio can reduce their risk of exposure to poliovirus by ensuring that their childhood vaccinations, including polio, are up-to-date prior to travelling.
