New cases of Ebola in Liberia

Two more cases of Ebola have been diagnosed in Liberia. Both cases were contacts of the 17 year old person who died from his infection. These are the first cases since the epidemic was declared over approximately 3 months ago. Health authorities are reacting quickly to contain further spread.

Advice For Travellers

Although the appearance of new cases of Ebola in Liberia is a setback for efforts to eliminate this virus from West Africa, the risk of exposure for travellers is very low, unless the travellers is providing direct care for an infected family relative or is a health care provider working in an Ebola treatment centre.
