New cholera outbreak in Karnataka, India

Health officials have declared the Bijgarni village and surrounding areas in a part of Belgaum district, Karnataka, as a cholera zone. The number of infected people is not reported. The public is being advised to drink only boiled water.

If gastrointestinal symptoms (e.g., vomiting and profuse watery diarrhoea) develop while visiting the affected area, travellers should seek medical care at once.
