New cholera outbreaks in Cuba?

There are unconfirmed reports of 2 new cholera outbreaks in Cuba, one iin San Luis in Santiago de Cuba Province with 27 cases and one in Bahia Honda in Artemisa Province with 19 cases. Although these outbreaks have not been confirmed by Ministry of Health officials, travellers should be cautious if travelling in these areas. Travellers can reduce the risk of exposure to cholera by strictly observing all food and water precautions. If visiting these areas and gastrointestinal symptoms develop, e.g., vomiting and watery diarrhoea, seek medical care at once.
