New deadly clashes in Kiev, Ukraine, today

Unconfirmed reports indicate that at least an additional 60 protesters were shot and killed today in the violence that continues in Kiev. Clashes occurred between protesters and police around Independence Square, with reports of bodies on Khreshchatyk Street, in the Kazatsky and Ukraine Hotels, and in the central post office, all on Independence Square, and Institutska Street.

Ukraine's acting interior minister stated that police have been issued firearms and instructed to use them in accordance with the law. One protest leader stated that police are working to restrict movements of citizens and that gasoline stations in Kiev, and possibly bridges, could be closed soon.

Some countries have issued travel advisories for the Ukraine due to the escalation of violence.
