New Japanese encephalitis cases reported in East Singhbhum district, Jharkhand, India

Fourteen suspected cases of Japanese encephalitis have been registered in Jamshedpur, East Singhbhum district, Jharkhand. All the infected people reside in rural ares.

Although these cases have not been confirmed by laboratory testing, the Japanese encephalitis virus is commonly found in northeastern India, where the transmission season has started.
