New outbreak of malaria in

Health officials in Gelephu have reported an outbreak of malaria in the town of Dawsiree in Assam, India. Although reports do not include the total number of cases, one death due to malaria is recorded.

Travellers to this region should be aware of the risk of exposure to malaria and take all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
