Norovirus continues to be major problem in England

Although there has been a total of 2,630 cases of norovirus infection recorded, it is estimated that there are 288 unreported cases for every reported one. The total estimated number of cases is more than 750,000. There have been outbreaks of the disease in multiple hospitals in England, Wales and Scotland that have resulted in ward closures and prohibition of visitors to stop the spread within the hospital. Travellers who seek non-emergency medical care at local hospitals should check to ensure there are no outbreaks of this illness at the hospital they will be visiting.
