Northern Indian power grid fails leaving 300 million without power

In the early hours of Monday morning, the northern Indian power gird failed leaving more than 300 million people without power in New Delhi and seven states in much of northern India. Commuter trains were cancelled but international flights were not affected. By midday, power was restored to much of New Delhi and Uttar Pradesh but not to Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir.

Travellers in these areas should expect some inconveniences, particularly in transportation services.
