Officials note annual increases in reported cases of leishmaniasis in Fuenlabrada, Madrid

Over the past few years, Ministry of Health officials have noted annual increases in reported cases of leishmaniasis. So far in 2012, a total of 228 cases have been investigated in the area of Fuenlabrada, Madrid.

Travellers to this area can reduce the risk of exposure to leishmaniasis by taking all necessary precautions to avoid sand fly bites.
