On-going outbreak of hepatitis B in Uganda with 14 deaths.

The Moyo District in Uganda continues to have an increased number of cases of Hepatitis B due to an outbreak that began in 2010. Health officials have confirmed that 14 people have died so far due to Hepatitis B while an additional 74 cases have occurred since since last year.

Travellers to this region should be aware of the risk of exposure to Hepatitis B and consider vaccination against this virus.
