One more death due to typhoid fever in Mufulira, Zambia

A third person had died due to typhoid fever in Mufulira. More than 2,200 people out of the 3,250 residents of the town have been affected since the epidemic began approximately 3 weeks ago.

Although work has begun to fix the broken sewage system, travellers to this city can reduce their risk of exposure to typhoid fever by being cautious and avoiding consuming contaminated food or water. Vaccination against typhoid fever should be considered, especially if unsafe food cannot be avoided.
