Outbreak of Ebola in Mali becoming more serious

The new outbreak of Ebola in Mali is becoming more serious with reports of 5 people with positive lab tests for the virus. A 6th case is suspected, and more than 200 contacts are being monitored for signs of the disease. There has been 1 more suspicious death.

While the risk of exposure for the general traveller is very low, tourists, visitors or residents in affected areas, should follow some simple precautions, such as avoiding any direct contact with anyone suspected to have this infection or participating in any burial rituals or customs.
