Outbreak of hand, foot and mouth disease in Grenada
Health officials have reported an outbreak of hand, foot and mouth disease in some day-care and preschool centres across the island. So far, 12 cases have been registered.
While the risk of exposure for the general traveller is low, children who are travelling may come in contact with local children who may be infectious. Small children are most susceptible to infection with this virus. Travellers who are travelling with small children can decrease the risk of exposure to hand, foot and mouth disease virus by washing hands frequently and by maintaining careful personal hygiene.
