Outbreak of salmonellosis at Tennessee Irish picnic

At least 50 people became ill due to salmonella food poisoning at an Irish Festival in Erin. The end-of-July Festival is usually attended by about 20,000 people. Although an investigation is underway, the food source of the illness has not yet been identified. Many types of foods were served at the picnic, including hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, and other typical picnic fare. Public health authorities are asking anyone who attended this picnic and who becomes ill to seek medical care as soon as possible.
If you have attended this picnic and have been ill with the symptoms of Salmonella, see your doctor
