Parliamentary and Local Elections in Botswana on 23 October

The President of Botswana, Mokgweetsi Masisi, has set 23 October as the date for parliamentary and local elections, when 57 national assembly and 490 local government representatives will be elected. The election day will be a public holiday.

Some services and businesses may be closed on election day. As with many elections, protests and demonstrations are possible in the coming days. Avoid all large gatherings as a precautionary measure.
