Planned demonstrations and strikes in Nepal beginning March 19, 2015

A 30-party alliance in Nepal announced their plans for protests over the new constitution beginning on March 19, 2015, and culminating with a three-day bandh (nationwide general strike) on April 9. On March 22, a demonstration will be held in front of district administration offices across the country. Beginning March 25, the alliance will boycott functions attended by the prime minister and other ministers. On March 30 and 31, protesters will picket district-based government offices. The alliance announced plans to enforce nationwide shutdowns on April 2 and April 7-9, 2015.
