Police ban scheduled protest for Saturday in Paris

Paris police have banned a pro-Palestinian march that was scheduled for Saturday due to security concerns.

Travellers should be aware that the previous two scheduled protests were banned. However, thousands of people attended and the demonstrations did turn violent. The New Anticapitalist Party has called for members and others to refuse the ban and make a greater showing for the Palestinian people.

Travellers may wish to avoid the suggested route of Saturday’s march, starting at Place de la Republique in central Paris and heading towards Place de la Nation in the east of the city.
